I am not sure if Great America's version is the same as the two I have ridden (King's Island and King's Dominion). I have never been to this park. King's Island's DZ got to me a little because the ring slowly rotates while lifting riders to the top. I really don't know why that bothered me, either. King's Dominon's version is slightly taller, but does not rotate.
If you have never ridden these types of rides before, you may get a little scared. It's all about suspense, the slow climb to the top and not knowing when you will fall. You can look up to see how far you have to go if that will help your nerves a little. It depends on what you have experienced ride/coaster wise. King's Island's version is my favorite because of the view you get of the park and surroundings before you reach the top. Have fun!

I've been on the one at Kings Dominion. They're a lot of fun. Is it scary? Yes, but it's the adrenaline pumping kind of scary. The wait at the top of the tower seems like it takes forever, and the drop itself is so quick. It's a huge rush!

I have!
Well, to my perspective, its not really THAT scary, Itsjust thrilling and fun. Really, the most scary part is the wait. Because when the rope/chain things are lifting you up, and you get up to the top, there's a sudden stop. Even though the view is really cool, its just nervracking to wait for it to just so "WOOSH" or whatever sound it makes doing down. But its pretty fun I tell you.

Yeah I've been on it several times. It wasn't that scary, the only time that it was is when you're at the top and you hear the clicking noises before you start the free fall. But it's a ton of fun...just don't look down! :) Hope you have fun!
