Juan Acevedo who pitched for various MLB teams throughout his 8 year career. He graduated 5 years before me, so no overlapping but I remember hearing about him when I was younger. We had a Colorado Rockies autographed jersey hanging in the display case at my High School.

Also, we had a guy drafted in 2001 by the Yankees, but he never did sign with then and has since gone on to pursue other things. He led our baseball team to the State Playoffs where I think they took 8th.

I coached 2 MLB players in JV baseball and Legion. Brent Butler(5th round Cardnials 1995) played for the Rockies 2b and Russ Adams 2b Blue Jays (1st round 01) both played at Scotland High Laurinburg NC (home of the 2006 4A state champs). Both are super great people and have come home to put on free clinics for the youth of Scotland County.

No. Had an Olympian from the 1960 Games, though. My High School closed in 1988 and merged with a bigger district. A kid by the name of Justin Hampson, from my old hometown, went on to graduate from the other school and is now with the San Diego Padres. His mom and my stepmother are still good friends.

You probably never heard of him, but former Mariner Mickey Brantley went to my high school. He also was a hitting coach for the Mets and Blue Jays. Also a Minor Leaguer, I can't remember his name off the top of my head; which is really bothering me.

Another side point, Mike Tyson also went to my high school. Which is funny.

Not me personally, but my cousin went to high school and was good friends with Randy Wolf. She showed me her yearbook and it had his signature w/ a little message and his number telling her to call him over the summer.
I thought that was pretty cool, but I don't think she talks to him any more.
**Also many PAC-10 athletes (mainly football) have come out of my high school. Including a couple from Cal, USC and Oregon
