I recall in the past people made fake snow to put on trees and such made from Ivory snow. Im wondering if anyone knows how to make it, how to put it on an artificial tree, and whether or not this would be something you could do one year and then take off and not have it ruin the tree? Any ideas?

Isadora, thats interesting, I dont want to ruin my tree but I bet it would look cool! As I reccall it looks jsut like the real stuff! I wonder if theres some other less permanent option, I wanted ot do my tree up with birds and pinecones and alt of really natural stuff! thanks!

My mother used to make this. She took a box of ivory snow flakes and mixed it with 6 or 8 egg whites, and enough water to make it the right consistancy, not too thin or thick, and whipped it with her egg beater to make it fluffy. I think she put it on her tree with a spoon, just flipping it on the tree, but maybe with her hands. I don't know if it will come off, as I remember, it dried pretty hard. We made Christmas villages with it too, using it for snow.

I live where it snows alot...we make snow families ( man, woman, kids, dogs) snow angels, snow forts, snow tunnels and have great snowball fights...also sledding down hills with people lined up on each side trying to hit you with a snowball as you go racing down the hill on a sled.......but keep your head down as the snow can sting when your face is cold......too much fun!!!! and you gotta have hot chocolate, it taste better than ever after being out in the snow for a few hours!!! Actually it snowed yesterday and more next week.
