Of course it is wrong morally and ethically. Whether you believe life starts at conception or at birth, you are still preventing a life that has already been put "in motion". Plus, there is ample evidence that, at some point, the fetus does feel some measure of pain. To me, that adds to the moral imperative of avoiding an abortion.

there are different things to argue 4 example if the person was raped or didn't want anything 2 do with the making and is under aged or something that cannot take care at all of the baby then abortion would probably be a choice but consider the life of the baby it is not it's fault,if u wanted to do dis and u just wanna be opening ur legs and not taking responsibility then that is wrong consider the baby and it is wrong to do it just because u don't want the baby if u feel like that is right there r videos on youtube that can show u wat they do 2 the baby's they suck them out and when they take out the parts you can see the baby screaming it is called the silent scream go watch that video and if u still want to do that the remember how u will feel after the action the guilt of taking a life just 4 the pleasure of sex but not taking good responsibility think about it.everyone else that wrote that abortion is right go watch the video, the person asking the question go watch the video type in Abortions with a capital and look 4 the 1 with baby parts it's called (abortions)duh

Let's forget, for the moment, all the political and religious stuff about abortion. Let's just think logically and reasonably.
I think most people would reasonably say that a nine-month fetus, ready to be born, viable outside the mother, is a -person-. I think we'd all agree on that.
But I think we'd also say that a single-celled zygote, a freshly fertilized egg, so small as to be invisible, is -not- a person. Yes it has DNA, but no intelligence, no brain, no consciousness, no organs or body. After all, every cell in your body has DNA.
For a long time, the question was: at what point between these two extremes does 'personhood' occur? It was a question that was very hard to answer, even for moralists.
The idea that life begins when the sperm hits the egg is not biblical or medical, it is a POLITICAL decision, made by some person at some point so that abortion could become a political/religious issue. It is an artificial and arbitrary decision, basically a stake in the ground to rally ideological troops around. There are many other ways of thinking about it, looking at it.
And because it became a political/religious issue, politicians, religious leaders, and the media began talking about it differently. They looked at it like a fence, with everyone on one side or the other. But actually, both before and after, it was more like a line, a continuum, with most people somewhere along the line, towards one end or the other.
I could suggest an alternative paradigm. When someone dies, we see 'brain death' as death. Your heart can still be beating, your lungs breathing, but once your brain stops making waves, you are dead, you are not coming back--nobody ever has. So that's when they start harvesting your organs.
Why not see the -start- of brainwaves as the start of life? This is at about 10 or 11 weeks after conception. About the end of the first trimester. Before this, there is no consciousness, no 'personality', no fear or pain, no sensation of any kind!
This would allow a woman a few weeks to learn she is pregnant, to talk it over with her doctor, her minister, her family, her husband or boyfriend, and make a decision.
It might be a reasonable compromise. But for politicians who want to exploit the issue of abortion, compromise doesn't suit their agenda. For one thing, it would remove it as an issue! We can't have that! 8^)

The problem is that all moral and ethical descisions are based on pre-suppositions. As such, religious conviction (or lack thereof) is the fundamental argument behind abortion. If you rely upon moral relativism to determine right/wrong, then it depends on the popularity of the subject one way or another. If you believe that all life on earth was created under the authority of a God, then your presuppositions will reflect the direction of that God.
I pre-suppose that God exists and that the Bible is true. Therefore, what the Bible says about abortion is true to me. However, I believe this by faith and it is personal. Abortion will always be wrong to me, and because everyone does not share my faith, I expect that the majority rule will determine the US laws that govern our country.
Ultimately, I believe that God will judge us on this issue, and it is my place to preserve life whenever possible. However, it is not my place to force my way on others, but to share in the responsibility of choosing leaders who share the same faith that I have.

There is a huge divide on the issue, however there is a point I havent seen made yet.
Why is abortion legal, yet try shooting a pregnant woman in the stomach and when she dies, HOW can the DA charge you with an enhanced double murder? In my opinion, the abortion rights people, as well as the Pro Life folks, want to count it as life when that happens but if a woman doesnt want the responsibility of parenthood-then its okay? It one big double standard on the Pro choice crowd the way it is and either they need to get rid of the enhanced murder charges, or do away with the abortion option-it would appear they like to have it both ways for them.

yes it's wrong. there are so many people who would love to have a baby, especially a newborn. why kill and innocent baby?
if u are going to have sex before u are ready, u need to use protection. if u are unable to care for a child, keep your legs closed. also, what gives us the right to take the life of someone (yes, i feel that it is a person at conception) who has never had the chance to live.
once i heard these girls laughing because one of them had to get more money from her baby's daddy to pay for the abortion because she was further along, so it was more expensive. it just made me sick. maybe they should have used that money to buy a box of condoms.
my sister once had a really good solution to abortion. when they abort the baby, don't anesthasize the patient. no pain medicine, GIVE THEM NOTHING! how many people do you think would go through with it then?
yeah its cruel, but who gives that unborn baby pain medicine so they don't feel anything as they are being ripped apart by a vaccuum cleaner out of a skank of a mother who can't keep her legs closed?
there are instances, when it will cause extreme harm to the mother, or the baby will be deformed or have extreme mental retardation, where abortion should be at least considered. however, in that argument people begin to say things like being pregnant puts possible harm on a mother no matter what. well, if just the harm of being pregnant should be cause for abortion, then don't let those same people drink, smoke, ride in a car or plane, walk down the street... u see what i'm getting at.

Yes, it is wrong. The fetus is a baby human no matter how anyone tries to describe it. Why should a baby pay with a death sentence because an adult was careless. There are couples that will be happy to adopt babies. However people that are for abortions will not be convinced. Many women found out how wrong it is by having one and now are paying with guilt for the rest of their lives.

Hmmm. Yes it is wrong. Everyone has a sense of control in their lives and if they decided to have intercourse and then decide to kill a human life because of it then yes. There are other ways to raise a child then getting rid of them. Adoption is a great way for those who can not have children. Economically? Hmm considering that an abortion cost you about 500 dollars. That money will probably go to some other drug that will impair someone else.
People will then say well what if I was raped? I am sorry to hear that you were but, abortion is still wrong. My only question to people who have decided to have one is who are you to decide if you can kill a human life? If you want to claim they are not human life but, fetuses do you want to explain that to the dying heartbeat?

No, abortion is not wrong. before the second trimester the zygote is just a bit of tissue, not a human being. Some believe that conception begins at birth, those people do not have to have abortions. For others, this is not the case. They can have abortions if they desire until the third trimester. Plain and simple. This is a question that the other industrialized nations have settled. Only here, in the states where we have a large number of Christian fundies does this issue still spark fits in those who are against a woman's right to choose.
It's rather tiresome to keep asking the question.
