( I have already posted this, but I still want some more answers).

A few days ago, my husband and i were watching a movie together. He left to get a drink and while he was gone i began watching a TLC's What not to wear. When he got back i asked if the skirt the woman was wearing was nice. It started this argument about wearing skirts. I have an internship coming up and like to dress up once in awhile. My husband does not want me wearing dresses in public. He says it is fine if i wear non nude colored tights. We didn't fight very long, but my husband was so bothered by the skirt tiff he slept on the couch. I told him to start acting like my husband and stop worrying about every little thing.

Why does this issue bother my husband soo much. He was so bothered that he didn't even want to talk to me anymore. I do not understand what I did.
I dress very conservatively in public.
I just want to dress in a skirt that goes past the knee once in awhile, with dark tights

Sounds insecure and also sounds a bit controlling. When he doesn't get his way he pouts on the couch.

You should be able to wear any skirt you want- even a mini skirt. He should not be telling you how you can dress and then tell you to wear colored tights!

To me it is controlling and with my past relationship, the control started very suttle and then it lead to a lot of worse things. SO be careful and don't let him get away with it.

He thinks your going to cave and do what he wants since he acted like a spolied baby and slept on the couch. No woman wants her husband unhappy but this is the stupidest thing to fight over! He is blowing it way out of porportion.

What is wrong with a woman wearing a dress in public? If you ask me not enough do anymore. I think they look super and sexy. Maybe he is just overly jealous. I could see if it was a mini skirt with fishnet stockings or something, maybe. But a dress or a skirt. Seems a little much to me.

I have no clue what his issues are but my question is are you going to let him dictate how you dress?
Let me tell you I am happily married to a wonderful man (going on 10 yrs) and if he ever proceeded to tell me what I am and am not allowed to wear we would have serious issues. Marriage should be about trust, love and respect not control.
If you want to wear a skirt then wear one! You are an adult it is up to you what you do or don't wear.
Tell me what would be your husbands reaction if you told him what he could and couldn't wear? Ask him!

Your husband is right...next thing you know your off running around town in a short-short mini-skirt, with your buttocks hanging out trolling for strange! I would have spanked your buns and sent you to your room...game over!

Either we don't have enough information about him................or he has too much information about you. If I had to guess with what you've said....he's an irrational jealous idiot or you're a potential exhibitionist friendly girl. He knows you and you know him so I'd say you two should ask each other the right questions next time you fight.

I think its silly. Your husband obviously has control issues and is insecure. Hes not your father, hes your husband.
