I'm doing my history day paper on the massacre of bloody island in Lake County, CA durring 1850. does anyone have any wonderful information sites or know who the general of the attack was. please leave a book title or web page to back it up; everything has to be sitable for a research paper

No general in command of such a small operation. The commander was Captain Nathaniel Lyon, who later became a Brevet Brigadier General and was killed at the Battle of Wilson's Creek during the War Between the States.

Google Bloody Island and you will find several entries, including at least one account written from an Indian viewpoint.
