in malta:
kinnie - a very successful carbonated (non-alcoholic) drink (like coca cola) made by Farsons Ltd.

Cisk - lager beer made by Farsons Ltd.

kunserva - a sort of tomato paste used mostly on bread - the italians and elsewhere tried to copy it but it does not have the same taste.

also something to do with maltese fever - i think it was the vaccine. search for 'sir temi zammit' or 'deni rqiq' / 'maltese fever'.

an extract of prickly pear to aid in hangover (reduce its effects)

a device to know when eggs are hard boiled.

figolla - maltese easter delicacy - made of pastry and almond filling (dont know if it is exactly an invention - more its a tradition)

ps.... the maltese cross was not invented in malta.... its was the emblem of the knights of the order of st john of jerusalem. they came to malta in 1530, and in 1565 there was the famous 'The Great Siege' in which the maltese and the knights faught against the turks and won and so the knights came to be linked so much with malta that the cross they carried on their uniform became known as the maltese cross. i think it originated somewhere in the middle east, and not in malta. its a misconception. hope this helped to clear up the confusion!!!

I'd say it's pretty safe to assume the Maltese cross was invented in Malta.

Well Malta I don't know. Israel? Invented how to portrayed themselves as the "goodies", while oppressing and stealing the lands and homes from the Palestinians. Really the Israelis are something one could "admire" in hypocrisy. They are the supreme experts! And their "amen" sycophants in this country, USA.
