well...yeah...kinda...Christmas is a holiday for Jesus' birth, but, i too, get caught up on the shopping and decorations and gingerbread houses. Christmas is also the only time of year that's it's cold where I live in California. although i enjoy the commericialism, i still keep in mind the true meaning of Christmas. me and family have given gifts to young poor children and we donate many coats to coats for kids and all that stuff. we also say our prayers for others and we stick a candle in a ice cream sandwhich and sing happy birthday to Jesus. So i think it's okay to be commercialistic during Christmas as long as u keep in mind the true meaning of Christmas.

I certainly know that Christmas has become too commercial. It is based on materialistic ideas and motives. All people think about is how many presents they have to buy or what they will receive. I saw a quote in a movie that said "Keep Christ in Christmas," people definitely need to remember that he is (Jesus) the reason for the season and see what they can do to help others who are less fortunate. That is something Jesus would do.

I believe in Jesus and God....but I don't believe it's Jesus' birthday because it doesn't say that it's Jesus' birthday in the Bible. It actually says you won't know when His birthday is. But, I still celebrate Christmas, but not as Jesus' birthday but just a holiday of giving and being with family. But, yeah Christmas is getting too much about just gifts and money. It's crazy!I Parents are really wishing there was such thing as Santa because they don't have to buy their kids all that stuff lol.

I agree, Christmas is too commercialized and yes, we should get back to the real meaning of Christmas.

Getting...I'm afraid it has gone way past 'getting' too commercial. The message of Christmas is one of celebration and 'brotherhood' for all. Whether Christian or not, the message is for all...unfortunately, we seem to have stopped listening. For example...see how many people insist on using 'X-mas' instead of Christmas. Wonder where that term came from...

yes i am very much a christian and i do believe christmas is getting very commercial!!!
i mean they over price everything and so many people just dont even know about Jesus and his Birthday! so to keep the Birthday spirit of Jesus you can make him a birthday cake and throw a little party with your friends and if any of them bring money you can put it in the offering plate sunday!!
hope this helps
god bless

Xmas has been too commercialized for a lot of years. I think some people have just given up on the true meaning due to many disappointments in their lives.

It has always been commercial. I don't celebrate for religious reasons so I don't really mind... I like the celebration as it is - a family & sometimes friends' reunion, changing presents, laughing and having a good time together in a warm cosy house.
