which is better final fantasy x or final fantasy xii?

Alright here's the deal.

Final Fantasy X is one of the best installments of the entire franchise. The character development, the plot to the story, and the music are all the epitome of what an RPG should be.

Now, as for me personally, I wasn't the biggest fan of XII. Graphically a very strong game. The new battle system is entertaining for a bit, but the "new" weir's of fast.

The plot to the game isn't very exciting, and never really hits the high mark set by it's predecessor. There isn't really one main character to the game and this is different for the previous too.

This is a good example of how good graphics and a shiny new package don't make a game great.

In my opinion, X is the much better game than XII and would be just as exciting to play through a second or third time as it would be to play through XII for the first. Just my opinion, but they replay value of XII isn't that of X, and if you can find it used, pick it up but I wouldn't buy it new.

I would say X...just because its a better game then XII.

If you have played Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on gamecube and like how the battle system is set up then you would like XII...but I can't decided that for you I am just giving you an opinion.

XII I think is kind of for the newer Final Fantasy gamers...if your an old school FF gamer then XII is really not for you.

My friend (I think) likes XII...I don't. I couldn't even play it through a hour...it just didn't feel like a Final Fantasy game to me.

I would suggest rent it though...you really don't want to spend 50 bucks on something that you might not even like.

Trust me...I though I would fall in love with every FF game because I love the series...but I was really wrong.

Final Fantasy XII's gameplay is way better and less boring than FFX. I'm tired of random battles already. I didn't like the story in FFX (too bright and colorful) and FFXII's story is sort of lacking. But you should at least rent FFXII. It may not give you the same feeling, but it's worth playing.

I can guarantee you one thing. If you play FFXII you will find at least one character that you like. And you will love being able to choose what weapons/abilities that character can use in battles. Then you will remember why Final Fantasy is the best RPG series out there.

FFX is FAR better then FFXII, it's the only sequel in the FF series and i think theres a reason for that. If you do want to play any other FF games, get FFVII, No.7 was the best, and is still the best Final Game from Square Enix. Amusing Trivia: Final Fantasy is named as such because it was Square Enix's last chance before going under. and didn't they do well!!!!

I agree, XII system means you can literarily leave your characters to fend for themselves as they will fight, cure, do magic without you never needing to lift a finger! Seems convinient but it makes the game boring. I also prefer X's graphics, but I haven't finished XII yet so I can't judge on plot.

Buy XII, it's much better than X and it's a whole new adventure. You can probably get it pretty cheaply anyway.

I choose X because of it's older style battle system. I absolutely despise XII's system.

I prefer FFX, because I loved the storyline and most of the characters. But I still enjoyed FFXII. The storyline in FFXII is a bit weak, but the great gameplay more than makes up for it. I recommend at least giving FFXII a rent, because it is a magnificent game.

I would say X. But if you collect FF series and a FF hard core fan, get XII.
