Season 4 will feature (pending resolution of the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike) 16 episodes that will be broadcast in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom beginning February 2008. In this season, the episodes will be shown consecutively without repeats. More of the Island's secrets will be revealed as the castaways continue to seek rescue after making contact with a freighter. Season 4 will feature both flashforwards and flashbacks.[51][52] Production began on August 17,[53] but has halted in late November due to the writers' strike.[54] As a result, the current plans are to air the first eight episodes of a shortened season. Season 4 premieres in February. Some are saying that it will be moved to Mondays at 8 in which case the premiere will be on Monday, February 4 others are still saying that it will continue on Wednesdays at 10 which means it will premiere on February 6th. Because of the Writer's strike ABC has said that they will air the 8 episodes that were completed before the strike started and then we are in for some annoyances. If the strike ends soon, the rest of the episodes will air in the fall. If the strike goes longer, they will have to air the back 8 episodes along with Season 5 in Feb of '09!

season 4 starts in feb. at least 8 episodes will air. HOPEFULLY, the writers strike will end and the other 8 will air as well. rumors for season 4 are the survivors and the others bonding together to defend the island from Naomi's people (rumored to be the DHARMA Initiavtive) but nothing is certain yet.
