I believe the act was a terrible injustice because the Cherokee of the Carolinas were assimilating well into the white culture. Had they been practicing tribal warfare as did the Plains Indians then that would be a different story.

The Cherokee tribal chiefs and its membership had adopted the U.S. Government laws and customs and the removal resulted in the deaths of many men, women, and children as they traversed the thousand miles to Oklahoma Territory.

Twenty-twenty hind-sight always works, but given the circumstances of the time in the Carolinas a better and equitable solution could have been offered and followed rather than kicking out the people from their lands and forcing them westward.

Tragically, politics and land greed was behind the removal act that culminated in the year 1836 over "The Trail of Tears."

Well I would go with terrible injustice, because it seems easier to run with and is more convincing. Even though you are giving your opinion, there's more supportive evidence on that side of the argument then the second prompt. I hate to sit on the fence on this since you are asking for which one we would choose, but I think the second prompt would be more challenging and would perhaps show your teacher that you are willing to take the different stance. But at the end of the day, which one can you write the most on, or just ask yourself what your opinion really is...that always works. Hope this helped, lol.
