A friend of mine was accused of a felony (he plead guilty), my question is, is there a way to get this felony erased from his record?

Not in Missouri. Once he plead guilty, it stays forever.

He can contact a criminal defense attorney who will give him the process for an expungment (or set aside). Every state has a procedure in place to vacate a felony conviction, but the standards are different.

The attorney should be able to tell him if he's eligible to file without any cost, the actual expungment is usually around $2500.

Depending on what the charge is. then maybe yes maybe no. If it is weapon or violence related then the answer is no. If it involved a lesser felony then yes. They can for a price and an attorney get their record expunged. also crimes against children can not be covered either. The authorities and the general public need to know where these sickos dwell.

I have a misdemeanor drug charge I pled guilty to from early 2002. It still stops me from getting a good job. I am just waiting for 7-10 years so the background check doesn't go back that far!

Your friend has the possibility to get a pardon by writing to the governor of the state or by getting a lawyer.....and hopefully getting his record expunged...
