My cigarette lighter went out in my 96 toyota 4runner. Is there a fuse I should change, or any typical solution/trouble shoot I can do?

Thanks.

should be a fuse for your lighter if the fuse checks out good then it is most likely the element.

You should be able to find a replacement cigarette lighter element at any auto parts store.

Did you realize that you're looking at the wrong device to plug in your GPS Satellitte Navigation? I too thought it was the cigarette lighter and when I powered up to use a Garmin GPS on an out of state trip, boy was I surprised when I was driving alone up the interstate about half way to my destination and the low battery light came on... Yikes I am screwed so I powered down and then when getting gasoline along the New Jersey Turnpike I decided to plug the GPS into one of the aux 12vdc plug (Jack) has a black cap that you pull and Hip Hip Hooray! In fact I even thought the power INVERTER that I bought on EBAY was defective and now that I know where to plug the end, it too works fine. FYI there should/might be one or more 115V outlets and we plug this inverter into one of the aux 12vdc plug (Jack) just below the cigarette lighter or our vehicles they also have power outlets in the rear as well. Hope the Above Info Helps!

Most likely a fuse on the fuse block. Look in the owners manual.
If the fuse is good, then you may have burned out the heater element and can buy another.

good luck

I'd check the fuse first. Your owners manual probably has a section on fuses. Most cars also have it on the fuse cover/door.
