Do you mean that you would like beginner violin music by famous composers?
I'm afraid there isn't much, and what little there is might be difficult to find.

Beethoven wrote a delightful set of 6 German dances (or allemandes) for piano and violin. I would have been delighted to have that compositon when I was a kid, but I didn't know about it at the time.It might be hard to find, unless a nearby library has the Breitkopf & Hartel edition of the complete works of Beethoven. It's the last composition in the last volume. In the upper right hand corner, it says "Serie 25 No. 308." I hope that helps.

In 1924, G. Schirmer published "Begin With Pieces," a violin beginner instruction book by Wallingford Riegger, who is known for his "Dance-Rhythms." I can't find this book listed on the Net, but G. Schirmer sells their out-of-print publications if you call a special number.

In 1948, Hug & Co. in Zurich published a collection of baroque dances entitled"Tanze aus der Barockzeit" for unspecified melody instrument and keyboard. I had that collection available when I was a violin beginner, and I relished it because I was playing real classical music!

In "Twenty Pieces for violin and Piano" by Kabalevsky, op. 80, the first 8 pieces are playable in first position.

Arthur Benjamin, who is recognized for his "Jamaican Rumba," wrote "A Tune and Variations for Little People."

There is also "12 Little Pieces from the Notebok of W. A. Mozart," which little Wolfie's father composed for him when little Wolfie was 7 years old. It is published by Belwin Mills and listed on the Worldwide Music International website.

The Dutch composer Hans Sitt is not well-known except among violin students, but you might be interested. He wrote multi-movement compositions called "student concertinos," and one of them is playable in first position. His "Twelve Compositions," op. 26 is nice.

I have most of this stuff at home already. If you would like for me to run some of this through the scanner,. let me know.

I have long decried the lack of dignified music for instrumental beginners, and I hope someday to do something about it. I recently finished composing an easy violin sonata based on Korean folk songs. If you are interested, send me your snail mail address.

There are no songs for violin. Songs are for voice - I think you mean pieces.
