because people are stupid and when a woman cheats, men became rough, rude and their ego is so damn rumpled that they are having a joy to down women with mean-full words (that's the nicest thing as in some other cases could be worst). They don't try to think of real causes, and they see more the appearance and the effects of the cause.

Historically speaking, women used to forgive their husbands' cheating ways more frequently for reasons other than love -- many would even turn the other cheek. To start, wives were highly respected and thus didn't normally engage in lustful, raw, animalistic sex, at least that's the way their husbands saw it -- so that's what mistresses were for.

Second, because they were basically having sex for procreation (see above), wives weren't big fans of the act of sex. As well, leaving their husbands "simply" for cheating would leave them disgraced (especially since it was quietly acceptable for men to cheat) and because they were "tainted" and had "baggage," marrying for a second time would be difficult if not impossible.

And because men were usually the sole breadwinners of a household, divorcing their husbands was virtually unheard of. Nowadays things are different... but perhaps not that different in that women still take their men back.

I didn't know that anyone thought that it's ok for men to cheat and not women. The truth is that the appropriate word for both men and women is adultery and it is sin for both. The term "cheating" is just a modern way of candy coating a serious sin called adultery and making it not sound so bad. But regardless of what people call it, it is what it is. Adultery and sin. And it is exactly that regardless of whether a man or a woman does it.

Well first off its not okay for ANYone to cheat. Man or woman.
The only thing is, is that there are so many names made up for a cheating/loose woman, but there just aren't nearly as many names for men who can't seem to keep it in the britches. I wonder why THAT is.....

I guess because a woman is suppose to act like a "lady" and a lady isn't suppose to cheat. It is not ok for a man to cheat either. I guess since we have names like **** and whore for women that cheat; someone needs to come up with a negative sounding name for a guy that cheats.

Who says it okay when a man does it? I understand what your asking and in society we tend to hold women up as having more control over their urges. But any adult knows that its equal as it takes two people to cheat. And the majority of the time they both are stepping out on someone.
So men are called whoremongers,bastards and women are called sluts and hoes. Either way its still being unfaithful.

I have never heard it said that its ok for anyone to cheat...if a woman does it she is trash, and so is a man
