Islam is a very peaceful religion.
Yes you get people who use it as an excuse for violence but doesn't that also happen in the christian religion.
Before you answer this question consider the damage the west has done in the middle-east.

Wow very few people don't seem to have clicked on to why I used the word scum so let me explain. musluims are referred to as scum for no reason. So I though I would use the same term.

Comparing a dictatorship to a religion. Comparing a handful of power hungry individuals to a whole religion. Lets all remember what we are doing in the middle-east now. Worse than lashes.

no doubt islam is a peaceful religion, the problem is the west see islam through what their media show, they see islam from people like bin laden. this is not the true islam.

people say islam say beat women, i am a muslim lady and i never been beaten, our religion doesnt say this. its people tradition and men dominace which make men beat women not religion.

( islamic law is fair and a person will not be beaten by lashes if he was innocent, its a system of evidence and proper procedures like any other system, its not a decison made in one min as people think, i know its harsh but with this we will protect our daughters, sisters, mothers, etc.. from being raped. i seen the english legal system and i study it, 1 out of 20 rape cases the accused get convicted and the rest 19 walk out looking for another girl to rape if you cant be harsh with criminal then thats the reason why offenders the soon they come out of prison they re-offend)

The people are being 'turned' against Islam by the mass media. There is a reason for it. The last time it was the Jews, this time it's Muslims. We just keep on making the same mistakes. However, we are being driven towards those same mistakes by the mass media. Perhaps being endlessly told about killings, 'terrorism', crime and bad bad bad is the best way to keep us fighting each other. Perhaps the 'news' isn't really news at all, maybe it's all planned before hand; which is quite possible if you think about it. Maybe we are not being told the entire truth! There is a great deal of money being made from the current wars, the justifications for which are based upon VERY dubious facts. There is still no solid evidence "proving" what we have had rammed down our throats every day since 9/11/2001. It pains me severely, that members of my own race still believe the contemptible rubbish that the mass media spews out day after day after day. I am not a religious person at all, but the older bibles do tell of the coming of a second profit. Well, that second profit did come, and he brought the Qu'ran to replace the bible. Christianity is an obsolete religion.

Just for the few original posters on here,agent zero etc,my line has always been going back some,and with the poster you mention that if he had said just once as i always do disarm everyone,no nuclear bombs anywhere.The answer i always got was that i didn't answer his question as to why Iran didnt have nukes,but i do advocate no bombs.However that was an incorrect answer and what i always heard was bomb all america.Even if i said there children new nothing,the answer was the same.On the point of a lot of posters leaving this site,well heres one of the biggest reasons.Going back to bully and bigot,racist and all sorts,just because you didnt agree.It didnt matter about anyone,s else,s view,as long as the e mail army were on top.There is so much evil and badness everywhere,but to be told on e mail what my wife was told completely stone walled me.Peace is good for everyone,but i dont like the thought of my wifes body keeping hell burning,and then some wonder why some say enough is enough,yep

I don't know anyone who hates muslims but I know quite a few people who fear the Islamist terrorists. Are these people the 'scum' you refer to?
I accept that the West has done damage to the Middle East but not as much damage as it has inflicted upon itself. Meanwhile the oil sheikhs are laughing all the way to the bank. Who's greedy then?

Well, the problem with Islam is it's treatment of women. It's not very good, is it ? Actually it's habitually abusive. You speak of violence. Well, Muslims use a lot of violence against women, both physical and psychological. Stonings, whippings, female circumcision, honour killings ( not much honour there ), I mean the list just goes on and on. Then there is the instruction in the koran about how a muslim man is allowed to treat infidel ( haram ) women. Not much chivalry there I can tell you !!

I get the whole "just because some fanatics go overboard doesn't mean we're all bad" thing. After all, the Christians had a few crusades of there own (bet you guys understood that). So, I don't think all Muslims are evil. What I am wondering about is why they vast majority of you aren't rallying around to help get rid of the radicals that are out to kill off not just us, but you guys, too. Don't you believe in standing up for yourselves?

so yep the Irish had it long before.. people assume I'm english just by my voice.. but my surname / roots are irish, normally they've made some ill informed/ignornant comment about the Irish then put their foot in it.

I used to date a woman from the middle east ... when the west got rid of the last person, her family were all happy.. her parents fled there due to him.. so it's not soley the wests fault.

It's like all people who moan about the UK, but it's FAR more liberal than there. Yet they might not think it's so bad after they go back to the country of their origin..

any religion is peaceful, BUT it depends how each person interprets the words... words can be twisted/distorted to mean something totally different, is the bottom line.

Personally, i know that Islam is a peaceful religion & that not all are to blame for a few fanatics. I also know that Christians are supposed to be peaceful, but are we heck? No. More wars have been fought in the name of religion than anything else. Surely if we all beleive in the one God, what is there to fight about? (oh sorry, land, oil, money!)
I would say that most people do NOT hate Muslims, as you say, but that as always ignorance has taken over their minds & they asume all are the same.
