it is basically opening your iPod touch firmware 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 and installs this installer button to allow other apps to be installed.my iPod still has no problems and if you do jailbreak it you should try it.you can get iPhone apps and other stuff. I installed this apps that allows me to share music from and to other itouches.if you deside to uninstall the installer apps just force restore by holding the hold buttons and menu button when the apple icon appears let go off the hold button only continue to press menu and when iTunes icon appears plug it into your computer and it should do the rest alone. It'll be back to its factory setting. And mine still syncs with iTunes and it still works. I havnt had a problem with mine since I got it in October

it really screws your iPot up!! you put in a code (to un-lock) and then you can use any software with your iPot, and you dont have to use iTunes anymore!!
first it goes fine, and then whamo....everything goes wrong....
