I've not played MK in awhile, but you'd most likely need to do a LOT of hacking with the system and this can damage both your game and the console. Additionally, I don't know if there is any way to alter the characters' appearances. That'd require a major hack,a digital upload, and could only be donewith systems that let you upload images. Even if THAT'S possible, it'd also most likely cause your game to freeze.

On the other hand, maybe there are better ways of doing stuff like that now than t here were when I was a kid. If a website like the one you're after exists, then I would also just love to see it.

IDK. I've seen some at IMDB.com, that movie website. Just go to the MK:A boards on there and you might find a post about it. I know what you're talking about, though.

And to the person above me, it's not the original MK. In Mortal Kombat Armegeddon, you can create your own characters and all... Anyway, hope that helps you out somewhat :)

If I remember correctly, Soul Caliber 5 lets you create your own character. Plus, it has Ezio from Assassin's Creed franchise as a playable character :D
