We got all of our tests from Term One. We got them from Reading, writing, math and science. Now, I did exceptionally well in all the tests except for one. I got a low mark (under 70) in a math quiz I have to tell my mother. Of course I am dreading that, but I have to. If you were her how would you react? Don't forget I did exceptionally well in everything

I would ask "What went wrong here?"
Did you not do the homework or did you not understand the material? Did you miss school during the period prior to the test or did you maybe get lazy?
Try to look at grades as being helpful indicators of where you need to put some effort, not some judgement being passed upon you.
Unless you simply made a dumb error on the test that you will not repeat, then you need to work with your teacher and parents to go back over that material covered on the test so that you get it right when finals come around.
There is no sin in getting a bad grade. The sin would be to get a bad grade and do nothing about it.

Welll everyone has a weakness in certain things. I'm not too good at math myself. As long as you're doing well in other classes, i'm sure she'll understand. Nothing to worry about.
Just make sure you ask the teacher for help when you don't understand something. No question is stupid. You probably hear that a lot but trust me, that helped me A LOT.

If i were your mother I wouldn't be angry but I would be disappointed that you didn't do better and then tell you to study better for next time and then maybe you'll do better. You can't get stuck on this one bad grade you have to keep trying and all the hard work will pay off.

Honesty is best, tell her the good news first, Try to figure out what went wrong on that one test, can you do extra work to bring up your grade, or study and retake the test

i blame the teachers for not teaching... if the kids aren't doing their school or homework then yes a parent should get after and ground the kid otherwise they just need extra help with the subject

This is what I tell my girls when they don't do as well as they could:
"You'll have to try harder to bring that grade up, because I know you are smart enough to do this work. If you don't understand something, it's your job to ask for help."
