Ooh, hard one. And opinions vary greatly. I used to have no problem with seeking revenge, and in fact felt like someone was "getting the better of me," or something, if I did not get my revenge. But I'm no longer a teenager and not quite so hot-headed, and from experience I've come to believe in karma. People do get what they deserve eventually, every time. It's not up to you to be the agent of karma, that only goes down as a bad deed in YOUR book of life. Leave lessons up to life to give, it's not your place to give them. Turn the other cheek, and all that. Try to have compassion for all life, even those who have wronged you. Revenge is a sign that someone still has a lot to learn about life.

Every time you call the police or involve the legal system you are exacting revenge. It is in you. You are offended if something you deem as 'property' is either taken, withheld or used without your permission. If you are offended at all you want revenge. If you are not strong enough to take it for yourself then you call the police. You can not escape revenge without denying yourself of what you see as 'yours'. That includes dignity, rights, space, feelings, etc. You are most concerned with controlling what happens to you and when that breaks down you wish to gratify yourself by 'getting back at' what ever took your control.

The problem starts with the idea that you are an individual entity.

u should never take revenge on something no matter how bad the problem is. that just makes u as bad as the person u r taking revenge on. (no offense) n also when u take revenge that doesn't do anything for except having the feeling of being proud of hurting someone which is wrong.

Man has thought about this for eons.
I can reply with quotations, because there are as many opinions on revenge as the number of people on the planet.
Like love, hate is personal. I cannot think, no can I decide for you.
Neither can you think for me, nor decide for me.
-----------------------------------
Therefore, here are some quotes.

"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”- Confucius
“In revenge and in love, woman is more barbarous than man”- Freidrich Nietszche
"REVENGE is often like biting a dog because the dog bit you."- Austin O'Malley

if they are wronged, maybe to seek revenge but not actually have a revenge coz sometimes it helps to get out all your feelings(anger, frustration) when you think about revenge, but i don't think it should be fulfilled..
However, thinking about revenge may also make you even more angrier so you don't wanna waste time and energy, but will try to move on...

No i dont think so.
Some years back someone informed me that my boyfriend of the time, was having an affair with a girl i worked with. They asked if i was going to have a go or hit her? I'm not like that & also didnt want to loose my job, as well as the man.
So, i asked her about it, quite pleasantly, got the info i needed & went back to my man. I asked him about it, & he quite openly told me that she was the love of his life! This girl was married & had just had a baby, & had 2 other kids.
I was so upset, i mean we lived together too, but i managed to hold it together in public & at work. I asked him to leave & he went back home.
My family didnt like 'L' anyway, & my brother mentioned it to his friend in passing. My brother didnt know, but It turned out that the friend was her husband! He, then sent her packing , & the joke of it was that SHE sent 'L' packing too.
So, i always say that "you reap what you sow, & it comes back to haunt you".

ps. I later met a lovely man, who would never treat me like that. So who got what they deserved, without me having to reduce myself to their level?

Revenge is just a way to get back at somebody who made you mad. Usually it just gets you in trouble and the person who made you mad just bask in the glory of making you blow up.

Gee.. it's all so subjective. I'd say it would depend upon how you were wronged. It's not possible to get very definitive here.. just use your head. ; - )
