I am looking to rid a small amount of Lithium from the oil in which it is stored. I know that I require an organic solvent that is not water based, as it will react with the lithium. Any feedback would be great

What you want is loosely called hexane. Actually, it would be petroleum ether or ligroin, which are fractions of petroleum distillates that boil about 70-90C. These things have brand names. Be careful, because these solvents evaporate fast, leaving the lithium open to oxidation.
