I can sort of shift from one foot to the other. It's not a pretty sight, ( I nearly said SITE then, I am not quite that big)
Rhythm of a piece of granite sounds spot on to me but I still have the rhythm in my mind and soul, if not in the body.

Step dance, clog, Irish, Shotisch, I can jig through a square dance or reel,
and also the high steps of the Scottish Swords dance.
I learned it from my folks in the foothills between the Ozarks and Smokies, and carried it up with my gum boots to the dirt floors on the back ranges of the Gaspé [to the pipes, fiddle, or tin whistle].
Give me a quaiche of the smoky stuff, a pull on the ole' fruit jar, a mug of hot Newfy Screech, or a quick shot of Jameson's and I'm fueled for fire on the river.
[The Prussian in me does every bit as well with Polkas (the kind with a stomp) and waltzes as the Scotch-Irish does with jigs, reels and flings. The spirits aren't a necessity, just a bit of extra loosening.]

I love to dance, not sure how good I'd be at a jig though.
I enjoy a good eggnog, but I'll just leave mine ill. lol

Mmmmmm . . . eggnog. I'm sorry, what was the question? Oh yeah, jig.
No, sadly. I am physically rhythmically challenged (vocally, not so challenged).
Have a great day!

Don't about a jig, but I can jitterbug, waltz, fox trot, rumba, samba, mambo, cha cha, do the twist [lol] and all the more recent [up to the late 80's dances]. I love to ballroom dance!..alas get very little chance to do so. :-(

Jive champion (1959)- seems i will nevertheless galvanize on the dance floor (devoid of embarrrassing my babies). purely ingredient i've got not got the carry of is "moon-strolling" - yet engaged on it. what's a median jig ??? Does it it contain stamping on somebody's head ? would not sound very severe high quality to me.

i used to be able to polka...thank God i've forgotten how! i had a girlfriend whose parents were from scotland, and one extremely 'fluid' new years' eve, her 'mum' taught me how to do the highland fling...haven't attempted it in decades, though...
