I'm 50% Itallian, I alway get mistaken for being hispanic. To the point that panhandlers jabber at me in spanish.
Try immersion. I dusted off lessons from middle school 20 years later by being the office manager for a bunch of immigrants that only knew enough english to get driver's licenses. They taught me their language, and I taught them mine; speaking of which, I need to take those guys a case of beer.
