Personally I do that because I'm too lazy to get up, walk ALL THE WAY to the kitchen to get a tissue.

NOT ALL men do that. But I did see something really disgusting a while ago. One guy, in public, closed one nostril with one finger and blew out the snot from the open one and did the same with the other. It was disgusting. I also hate it when some men spit.
