Does anyone know or knew a prostitute?

Just interested, what were they like?

A mess. I was interested in what would make a woman do that for a living. It turns out they are people who have been so damaged, they no longer have a heart or soul as you and I know it. Their consciences are truly seared. I know, Julia Roberts made us all wonder in Pretty Woman. Trust me, the love of a good man is all they need. However, there is only one Good man, Jesus Christ.

One was quite normal but just never got an easy break in life. She finally met a man quit working married the fireman friend of mine and lived a great and normal life like any other normal person. The other was a hottie so to speak, but was a wild woman and spirals up and down. She has been married, lived with several different losers, and trashes the good men she meets. Every once in a while she dries up for a spell only to fall back into her old lifestyle. It's a shame, but she's a pathetic case and needs professional help.

Yes, I've known many prostitutes in my life. They were basically very normal people who are 'forced into prostitution' by circumstances. Some are very well cared for by their pimp or madam, others are drug addicts who work to get money to support their habits. While I have never been a prostitute, I have known many police officers who CARE for these women, and they have taught me that life can change for the prostitutes ONLY if prostitution is legalized, as is true in Nevada.

I once worked with an 'escort'. I didn't work with her at her escort service, but at a different 'day' job she had. She was actually kind of snotty and arrogant. She was very pretty, so I'm sure she got top dollar. I don't think I'd be friends with her outside of work though, but I can't speak for ALL prostitutes, just her.

By the way, she DID have her escort job by choice, and was not forced into it. She had kind of a sex addiction thing going on and she says she enjoyed the work. She was not a drinker and did not do drugs, and she was very clean. To each their own.

Your job doesn't define you. It's a job. Yes, in the USA prostitutes are usually a lower social standing but that's because of the general puritanical snobbery of our society.

The prostitutes I've known were mostly lower middle class and some had education, others didn't. They had as varied interests as anyone else you'd meet and were generally good people. Some liked their job, others didn't. Just like the rest of society.

My best friend since fifth grade was a prostitute for a while. She was messed up for a while. Lots of drugs etc. etc. however, the prostitute stuff was the least of her troubles. She was pretty normal when she wasn't on drugs. She's certainly the life of the party.

Known a couple at work. You would never guess they were prostitutes since both were lesbians:
Found out about it during holidays. I had my radio on listening for speed traps and accidents on interstate. I heard them talking to trucks while going by a truck stop they were working.
I ragged them a little when we got back to work after the holidays. They both told me, "if any man wants to do me he is paying for it."
They did it on the side to make extra money and, viewed it like any other part time job. It didn't affect them at all one way or the other.

just remember there is a difference in prostitutes and crack hoes now a lot of women do this for income and to get by. but crack hoes do this for another hit. but its the oldest profession but also the most disgusting to me but who I'm i to judge i couldn't cast the first stone cause I'm not perfect either i just wish they would respect their selves more and get a job with benefits and something they can retire from cause they can't sell it forever! a lot of people will surprise u i know some women i wouldn't never think they would but if u got money and they need a bill paid or have a gambling problem will propose sex for money it really opened my eyes that a lot of women that we all know we wouldn't never expect it but will get down for a sum of cash. yes that goes for MEn also cause should i say males cause men shouldn't go there there is male hos too

I never have. But I think I once saw a girl I went to grammar school out on the streets selling her self. I wanted to say hello but she gave me an attitude for looking at her.She also looked like she was on drugs. :( So I just walked away. I cannot get her out my head. I mean. It’s been over 15 years since we got out of grammar school. But just the thought of her being out there makes me sad. She is so beautiful and I remember her being a smart girl. I wish I would have talk to her and maybe been able to help her out.
