Omg that is scary...mine isn't as good. 2 months ago I got really drunk with a bunch of college guys and one of them said he'd take me home on his motorbike. We smashed into a parked car. I'd been so out of it that I hadn't put the helmet on properly so it flew off and I smacked my head on the road before the bike crushed my stomach. I came round two days later after being airlifted to the top neurology hospital in London with a brain haemorrage and punctured lung. When I regained consciousness the doctors explained that the bad news was that I had brain damage and would never walk/talk properly or generally look after myself. The good news was that it could be totally reversed with brain surgery. However, there was a significant chance I could die or be even more damaged. I consented but the scariest moment was just before I went under but luckily it was a huge success and I'm perfect now (but without hair)

Being in a car accident in Cleveland when I was 14.
My mom was driving a rental car from the airport in some of the most torrential rains I'd even seen before or since.
She didn't know the city and was trying to find a way through some newly-constructed roads or something back to the freeway.
She made a left at a 4-way traffic-lighted intersection, and out of the corner of my eye, as I was sitting in the passenger seat, was this black car-object coming right at me.
The 1993 Chrysler LeBaron convertible was smashed into from the passenger side, with additional hits made/from by other cars as it spun around and around. Airbags deployed, and flying class was everywhere, as the window had shattered.
When the car came to a stop, I was screaming, and the rain continued to pour. Passing motorists pulled me and my mom through the other door. The hit music station was still crackling fitfully over the car's speakers, the song was 'Kiss From A Rose'.
There was smoke in the car, so I thought it was on fire, but it turned out that the flying glass shredded the airbag, and since explosive charges are used to deploy the bag or something, that I guess gunpowder could get out - or I might be wrong about what's in the airbag systems.
We were both okay. I had to get stitches on my eyelid, eyebrow, arm and thumb.

I was about 8 years old, playing with two of my girlfriends. We snuck into the candy jar and were eating these hard, round, cinnamon candies. We ran up the stairs to go to my friend's room, and the candy slid down my throat. I was choking, water wouldn't budge it (it just poured back out of my mouth). My friends kept pounding on my back, but nothing happened. No grown-ups were home to help. I began to panic running from bathroom sink to kitchen sink (thinking water from a different spot would work better I guess - I don't know). Finally I slumped over the bathroom sink (slowly passing out), and my friend was able to give me a really hard whack which made the candy fly out of my mouth. I took a deep breath, and passed out. When I woke up I began to cry and said I was going home. My friend begged my not to tell what happened since we weren't supposed to be eating the candies. I promised, but was crying and shaking too hard when I got home for mom to believe that we just had a fight.
That scared me so much that I've never let my kids have that type of candy.

yikes. good reaction.
i would have to say last august on vacation. we were in a canyon\mountain. a storm came through and there was lightning everywhere and we were 7000 feet above ground. then the was pouring and i almost drowned in a flash flood in the canyon. we were stranded on an island type thing for one hour intil we could somewhat cross the 17 rivers up ahead. theere were full grown trees comming down the river, so it was very scary.
when we got to the hotel, we found out that it was the biggest storm there in a long time and an entire town got swept away from it.

A guy followed me off the interstate, through my hometown. We went past all kinds of places he could have turned but did not. Most of the ride was spent with me on the cell phone with the police dipatcher as he sent units to find me. It ended in a gas station parking lot. And, the man following me was not from the town and admitted to the police guys that he was following me. He said I was flirting with him. He was driving with a suspended license, had his baby in the car and his wife had to come get him since they impounded the car (driving w/o a license).
To make things worse, since the man techinically did not commit a crime, he was not charged with anything more than the driving with no license violation.

oh, my God!!! you are very lucky!!!!
scariest thing for me was last year when my little
one had massive seizures when she was sick and went to
the hospital. had 5 spinals done and lots of bloodwork. mri and ct scans. not knowing what was going on is the worst.
she ended up being fine, VERY dehydrated, (from high fever and vomiting all week, she had just been to the Dr. the day before!) then all this happened!!!
