not knowing, or worse- not caring.

The first one can't really help. They can try to educate themselves, but unless they know of the specific issue to research, they'll probably never come across it. We're all ignorant in more ways than we'll ever know.
The latter is the one that kills me. With all the major issues in the world, you'd think that we'd do whatever we could to help- especially when there's not a huge struggle. But it's not that way. People just don't care. And there couldn't be a better recipe for destruction...

Not knowing something. I'm ignorant about many things. Like the makeup of a jet engine. Ignorance is not bad unless you need the knowledge and refuse to learn it.

"Ig" is from "in-," "not;" and "gnor-" is from "gno," "gnosis," knowing.

There are many degrees of not-knowing, from ignorance of Omnipresence, unto blissful ignorance of energy-veiling, e-veiling, eviling. Christ Jesus teaches to be "wise" (knowing) *as* +/- talking serpentine falsity, importing counter-claiming to a false or lying suppositious e-veiling.

So while ignorance may be bliss, "happiness," it is well to Know God "I-Thou," and to be "wise" vis a vis error's false claims upon one's purity, kindness, joy, love, life, and so on.

You might enjoy "Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, as an example of being wise at Harvard, "University of Destruction," David Wheaton, as an example of finally becoming wise at Stanford, and "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, "Men in White Apparel," Ann Ree Colton, and "Man, Master of His Destiny" and "Light Is a Living Spirit," O. M. Aivanhov, as examples of wisdom, wise dominion, precluding error.

cordially,

j.

SIMPLE.

Ignorance: lack of knowledge in something, therefore not able to take any action in that field
example: You don't know what situation is in Darfur, thus you cannot do anything to help it.

Ignorance: knowing something but still deciding to not take action in that field
example: You know the situation in Darfur but still decide not to help it.

That is ignorance.. aka our worst enemy on this planet.
