The gold and white color scheme sounds very pretty and elegant to me!
I also like ( but haven't tried) blue & silver, burgundy & gold, and even purple & silver on Christmas trees.
The cherubs and doves sound so nice. My grandmother puts glass angels on her tree every year and they look great. I wish we could too, but I have too many children for breakable ornaments!
I think your idea is great. Happy Holidays!

I have been doing Christmas trees (real) for a very long time, and a real tree looks fantastic with gold and silver balls, (you could do either or both). The white, gold, and silver should look great together, very classy in a religious way. A star would look good too, in case you didnt have one.

Our tree has always been white lights, gold ornaments (balls & bells) and gold garland.
Once about 10 years ago, we had blue lights, red ornaments and red garland; when I took the tree down, I threw the decorations out, so we had to go back to the white lights.

add some little gold bells and I think with you'll be perfect !! I would personally like a little splash of red, but thats just me. I know what you mean about real trees! they smell good, but the mess keeps you busy! Merry Christmas!

I think what you have in mind for decorating your tree will turn out really pretty. What's important is how you feel your tree looks and if it makes you happy to look at. I'll bet you'll be happy with your decision no matter what because you decorated the tree with care.
