new to this web stuff ..been burned a few times by pretend people who weren't who they said they were ...how does one really know ...?

you dont, i guess...listen to your instincts first and foremost...you can be a bit of a detective on here too if you need to be and check people out a little, see what their game is...or isnt...but otherwise, its just go with your gut instinct...its the best advisor you have...;0)

Well......you can begin by doing a web cam chat. I had to do that some time ago when I met a guy who didn't believe I was really a girl. After that, it's just like meeting people anywhere else-there are a lot of cons, psychos, and people with serious problems. But-there are genuine nice people too. Take it slow in getting to know them and don't tell them too much. I've been burned too but I won't let it destroy my faith that good people exist. Oh yeah, trust your gut as it won't lie to you. Hope that helped a bit.

You just have to trust your instincts. If someone seems flakey don't go there. I could be the worlds worst because I usually always give everyone the benefit of the doubt until I find reason to believe otherwise. So maybe I am not the best person answering the question. You know what you have such an insight into things if you can't tell I'd have to say hmmm? Good question.

if they have a blog, reading it might give you a clue or two as to what they're like ... I've been burned by people I've met face to face ... you can probably trust them to be human ... I think you gotta get good at reading between the lines and even then it's a crapshoot ... I think the lady who said you gotta trust your heart came as close as anybody ... the others had some good stuff too, connect the dots ... anyone who can marry earth to fire and produce a new creation has some pretty strong instincts, I'd say ... trust yourself ...

You have to relay the banter back and forth and see if you click. You get a feeling about some people. But just like in real life, it a crap shoot.

i have since been unblocked. but you can't block someone by accident.
