Your best bet is to go to your county court office website, they usually have forms you can fill out and download for yourself then file for the divorce for a small fee usually from 250-500 dollars

I hope you both understand that uncontested means you both mutually agree to what you put in writing as for division of property, assets, liabililties, and costs associated with the divorce. Forms are available on line and also at some office supply stores. You need to know that the Courts have filing fees associated with legally recorded documents, so call your county clerk to obtain the filing cost.
By all means, if you DO have children together, PLEASE get at least one attorney on your uncontested divorce to ensure their interests, child support, and visitation are met with legal bounds. Best Wishes to you both and be proud you can do this civil and remain friends.

My husband and I got divorced about 4 yrs ago now. He just rang the department of births, death, & marriages and they sent him out the divorce papers, we both filled it out, signed it and sent it back and within a short time we were divorced. We didn't have to appear in court or anything. I live in Australia though so I don't know how the law stands on these matters in your country. When we separated though we had to go to court to divide up all our assets etc.

If you want cheap, file the paperwork yourself at the courthouse. It should cost about $100 for paperwork and filing. If children are involved, I would suggest getting a lawyer. Also if your not working the courts can waive the fees for paperwork so you won't have to pay. Good luck and sorry to hear about your divorce.

Go on line and see if you can do your own divorce. If you can all you have to do is print out the papers, both of you fill them out, go to the court house and have a judge sign them. It all depends on your State. The court house can answer all your questions about this, it happens everyday. You only have to pay court costs then.
