Not the same, but both are Slavic languages, and have similar vocabulary. Czech uses our alphabet, but with some accents, and Russian uses the Cyrillic alphabet, which you'd have to learn.
I hear from friends who are Ukrainian and Polish that they can all sort of understand each other from Russian, Czech, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, etc.
But they are all totally different languages.

no, it's not... Czech is from the Czech Republic, Russian is from Russia... in terms of languages they are not the same either...

Even though both languages belong to the group of Slavic languages, there are significant differences... e.g. Russian uses a different alphabet than Czech...

if you want to find out more just go to wikipedia and type if Czech or Russian... there's a lot of info...

there are too many difference to list them all...

No they are not a same thing. Both of them belong to the Slovak languish family but they have they own languish, culture and history. Before the wore started between the Serb and Checks it was called Chehoslovakia. Also when the Berlin wall collapse Russia got separated from Ukraine,Armenia and more of the smaller countries which was taken by the Russians in 1917. The Russians were a communist country and in 1955-1956 they move into the neighboring countries and try to make a communist countries. They only able to make the neighboring countries a socialist country with 1 or 2 exception.

Aaahh Czech means from the Czech Republic, and Russian means from Russia - they are two different countries. Is that what you meant? They are not that far apart...but very different.

Czech and Russian are two different languages and two different set of people.

It certainly is not. If you refer to languages, they are completely different. If you think about nationalities, they are different too. Czech republic is a country in middle of Europe, and Russia stretches from Europe to Japan. More than 10 years ago Czech Republic and Republic of Slovakia were the same country named Czechoslovakia, and were occupied by SSSR (Russia was part of SSSR from 1917 until 1991).
