Don't know if you would call this think tank. The one Jimmy Carter found to promote political knowledge, and not sure if it is still around.

I believe that thinking errors come from ignoring information that does not fit in to your careful world view. So I think the best think tank is the one your already in, just don't fall to the very human temptation of isolating yourself from other thoughts and ideas to make your thoughts and ideas more correct.

I am not sure I have much faith in "think tanks". The collective wisdom of the regular folks is often more on target.
