Seriously they are all great fields with their own benefits and compromises. One really great way to get some experience is to call different people in those fields and schedule a time to talk to them about what they do. Read up on how to conduct a good interview and how to ask "ice breaker" "information-getting" and "probe" questions. Make sure your questions can't just be answered with a yes or no, and try to listen carefully so you can ask follow up questions during the interview. Only plan to ask 5-8 questions, because that alone will take a lot of time. People will usually be fine with helping you, you just need to ask politely and make sure it's a time and place that is convenient for them (whether that is their office or a coffee shop during lunch). It seems weird at first, but if you are prepared it will go smoothly and make you seem really professional.

Another idea is to volunteer in a hospital, or call different private offices and ask if they could use a front desk assistant or something. Then at least you'll have some experience to back your decision.

I can't help you with dental hygiene, but here is some information on radiologic technology (x-ray) and sonography (ultrasound): http://www.asrt.org/content/abouttheprofession/_AboutTheProfession.aspx
