First off do you know what file it is? If so, try booting your computer in Safe mode and run a virus scan and see if your virus program can remove it. Also you can go to the web site of whatever virus program you are using and they normally will have instructions on how to remove certain viruses. Another thhing to watch for is if you do get it out, be sure to flush out System Restore. I have had people get viruses out of their computers and a day or so later they were back. We tracke dit to the System Restore as it was storing the infected file along with the good ones.
