Hey everyone. I am 18 weeks pregnant today. I have been feeling something in my stomach for a little over a week now, maybe 2 weeks. It sounds strange to describe it this way, but it almost feels like a piece of popcorn popping in my stomach. It only happened occasionally when I first felt it, but now it's a lot more frequent. Every time I sit or lay down, I feel it. Do you all think this is the baby moving that I am feeling? And if so, does it sound like I'm feeling it too much for only being 18 weeks? When I lay down for about an hour, I'll feel it at least 10 times! Thanks!

I remember the first time I felt mine move. It reminded be of a butterfly fluttering. You will find you feel more movement when you sit or lie down when your pregnant. Have fun with it, I absolutely loved being pregnant, I did it three times!! Good Luck and God Bless!!

That's EXACTLY what the first "kicks" felt like for me - like popcorn popping! The little nudges from the inside gradually turned into thumps, and by 20 weeks I could see some of them from the outside. You aren't feeling it too much at all, and it's very normal to feel it more often when you're at rest...when you're moving around, the baby may be rocked to sleep by your movements. Pretty soon you'll have body parts poking out all over, it's the neatest feeling in the world! Good luck and congratulations!

Yes this is your baby moving. I used to describe it as bubbles popping in my stomach. isn't it amazing! you'll be even more amazed when your baby gets bigger and you can see the shape of a hand or foot on your bump or when your baby turns around. You are feeling movement at around the right time. Your baby is still very small that's why it feels the way it does. When you get the big kicks sometimes it can be really shocking or when your baby objects to the way you are lying he will let you know by kicking until you move position. Best of luck. Enjoy this part of your pregnancy because you will look back on it with nostalgia one day

Sounds like the baby moving to me. I hear it described so many different ways. SOme of the ways i agree with others not so much. I think it is a bit different for every woman. What is common is that you do feel it more while in a relaxed position.

Yes that would be your baby moving. I'm 18w 1d pregnant and felt my baby kick when I was 17w 2d. A lot of people describe it as flutters but mine felt like a muscle spasm. The baby kicked me about 5 times. I also felt kicking last night about 5 times. Cheeky little bugger!

Congrats! That is your little one making its presence known. Isn't it wonderful. You're not feeling it too much, and on a sidenote, don't panic if there are slow days because they have lazy days in there as well. As your baby gathers strength you'll be feeling it all the time. It's my favorite part of being pregnant. Sounds like you have a future soccer star or dancer in there. :D
