In 1996, my little community newspaper in New Haven, Indiana was the only paper in the country to endorse Perot for President. That got me a 10-minute interview on C-SPAN's "Sunday Journal", and an opportunity to meet Mr. Perot in person. I found him to be an incredibly profound, wise and endearing man away from the TV cameras and bright lights. His ideas were sound, well-thought-out, and provocative.
I truly believe had he been elected President, Ross Perot would have completely wiped out all the corruption, waste, sloth and fraud in our government (of course, that's why the 'establishment' skewered his rise in popularity by threatening his daughter's wedding, and making him out to look like he was not committed to his run for the White House). Perot scared the beJesus out of all those 'career politicians' (who suddenly claimed they weren't), and promised that if he was elected, he would be our servant. That's something politicians don't understand. They forget that they're supposed to be working for us once they get too comfortable in their cushy jobs with their extravagant benefits and plush salaries.
Perot would have run government like a business, accounting for every penny of the people's money it spent.
I loved his idea for an annual report - something that each administration should publish at the end of each fiscal year. The people deserve to know how they're money is being spent - or squandered. -RKO- 11/26/07

Ross Perot , Alive and well in Texas ! For golfer 7.. If Ross Perot had to lose one debate to algore , then the NAFTA debate was the one to lose ! So, now that you say algore won the NAFTA debate with Perot , what has algore done about NAFTA ? Mock all you want but Ross correctly described what you would hear if NAFTA became a reality here in the USA ! As Ross said " Listen for giant sucking sound , ( and he wasn`t referring to Monica either ) that`s American jobs` going to Mexico if NAFTA is made into law !
