I moved 90 miles from my home town when I was a teen and I had no family remotely close. I forgot a tin opener. I spent 2 hours trying to spear it with a knife and cut round it with scissors...sooooo embarrassing. Since then I have moved 4 times (gulp im only 22) and I had a voucher that I spent on a clock and a coffee table. The coffee tables long gone now though. All you need is a chair of somesort, plates, ladle, pots, tv bed, duvet sets, ironing board, corkscrew, lightbulbs...that sort of stuff. Good luck and remember the tin opener!!!

We didn't have loo roll holders when we moved in, so we just sat the loo roll on the side for weeks and weeks until it became too annoying.
Good buys are anything that will help you keep it tidy. As soon as it starts getting messy the sooner you stop enjoying having a new house.
Things like washing baskets to hide all the dirty clothes in. Or a clothes hangers for inside the wardrobe. Or coat hooks.
Whatever you do make sure you have loads of cleaning stuff... cloths, sprays, vacuum... maybe not house stuff but they are essential if you want to get off to a clean start! Oh, bin-liners too!

I would get some adhesive shelf paper for the kitchen, a new mop ,waxer and bucket with wheels on it with a new corn broom. I would get some window cleaner and a squeegee, I guess I would just get cleaning stuff, some new curtains, a sprinkler for the yard. And Music is a must when unpacking and setting up a new house! How fun! Get a welcome Matt for your doors, and extra light bulbs for the permanent lighting fixtures outside! Good Luck ,and Good Life in your new house! Byee
