Absolutely! Last week I posted a request that people pray for my best friend and she got more than 40 responses. She has looked and read them over and over and finds comfort in them.

Thank you so much for your prayers. She thanks you too.

Feel free to share how the power of prayer has helped you so we can all continue to gain strength in it's power.

There is an amazing amount of power backing up a sincere prayer. This sends out one for continued healing and comfort.

People don't always understand how prayer works. I've prayed for burdens to be lessened, and there have been times when I felt overpowered by my responsibilities. After prayer, I felt immensely relieved. I think it was because I turned it over to someone who COULD handle it.

What great news! Felines and Scooter said it very well. We shall continue to pray for your friend.

A year ago I added my boss's daughter to my prayer chain. She is 38 and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Daily prayers were said for her and I emailed my own personal prayer for her each time she had to go to treatment. The doctors were amazed at how the tumors were shrinking and they felt the shrinkage was not due to the meds, not at that speed. She still went ahead with the double mastectomy, but her recovery was remarkably fast.

A woman at church prayed daily, and asked many of the women to do the same; the prayers were for one of her sons, totally unsaved. After 4 months, she got a phone call from him telling her he had turned to Jesus that day.

Last month we started a prayer and worship time at church, two Sunday evenings a month for about 2 hours. People come forward with special needs. The praise reports we get two days after this event takes place are mind boggling.

There is power in prayer!

I will tell you my experience that happend in 2003 and let you decide. In january of 2003 my doctor decided it was time for a good physical with scans and so forth. The first thing that came back bad was a mammogram. Well I had to wait several weeks for a biopsy, during that time I had a collapsed windpipe from my first ever asthma. While going and getting treatments for the asthma it was suggested I hav a CT scan because I had been on predisone. My CT scan showed something so had to go for ultrasound. Ultrasound showed a large thickened gall bladder that doctors called a gall bladder tumor. I had people everywhere praying for me and in March I started first with the biopsy that showed up benign. Two weeks later I had the surgery for the gall bladder tumor. ( three doctors had told me this was cancer). My surgeon came back and told me my gall bladder was full of polyps and cysts-- benign.

Miracles happen through the power of prayer.

Sorry this was so long.

There is definitely power in prayer. Just knowing someone is taking time to lift you up in their prayer and thoughts is definitely a boost to a person's spirits.I hope your best friend continues to improve. I will continue praying for her. Take care!

I have observed and felt the power of prayer many times in my young life. It's a gift that we don't use often enough and sometimes are unwilling or too foolish to realize that it was/is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm truly thankful and happy for your friend. May God continue to bless us all.

My son reenlisted in the Army right after 9-11 and was going to be deployed immediately to Afghanistan. I was so terrified and filled with dread, it was like a sickness. I cried all the time. Finally I told God I just couldn't go on like that anymore, and that I was turning it over to Him. I was filled with a peace you cannot imagine. There have been many other times God has helped me, as well. Sometimes He gives you exactly what you wanted; other times He gives you the strength and grace to get through it. And it always gets better.

I agree with you, absolutely! I'm so glad your friend is finding the comfort she needs and hope things work out well for her.
There are things in life I just can't handle alone, but I know the Lord is always just a prayer away. My faith and the hope it brings carry me through the trials in life.
