i am just starting out in my own place with my 2 kids, za and emma. some people told me i should get on here to see if there is any one that might be able to help me get christmas for my kids. I missed the sign up for the salvation army they had it the first of november. hope some one out there can help.

my recommendation would be to find the local food bank in your area
I worked with the one in my area for years and years
the people who work in those places usually have pretty good knowledge of what is available in the area they serve
I used to have a three page list of resources that I used to distribute copies of
and single women with children
is the category I had in mind most as I made up my list
I no longer live in that area
but now I am friends with the people that serve the area I now live in and have assisted them in expanding their own lists

Try "Shop With A cop". If they have it in your area...
Call every church in the county (some of them are bound to be jerks to you, but just keep calling next one on the list).
Call the welfare office and the trustees office, they are bound to have a list of such charities.

Check with your local united way. They should know of organizations or churches that may still be taking applications.
