...straight over the top of the existing coat of paint? That is, without any sanding back.

I recently resprayed a few sections of the car after filling in some dents and I am unhappy about the finish because the resprayed paint does not perfectly match the existing paint. I want to sell the car soon but this will be a major set back.

Therefore, I was hoping it would be possible, and someone would be willing to drive it into a paint booth, respray it, then drive it back out and bob's your uncle.

Any chance of this being possible?

Thanks

it is possible to respray an entire car, but the surface needs to rubbed back at allow the new paint to 'key' to the surface. professionally done, it can cost heaps, but is is possible to do it yourself. remember, for every hour you will spend painting, you need to spend 10 hours in preparation

You can't repaint a car and expect good results unless you do the job correctly. And that includes the preparation. And that costs money.

Save your money and sell the car the way it sits and be honest with the buyer. They will appreciate it and you will feel better about it and if it ever comes back to you, hey, you told them up front.

Sanding gives the new paint a rough surface to "hold onto". Improper surface preparation will cause the paint to peel off.

Sure, easiest thing in the world, but, matching old to new is the problem. People whe are capable of doing that are in great demand. They are capable of spraying just one panel and saving the shop a great deal of time and money. Spray the whole thing.
