We lived in Willow Springs area. Nice homes but gangs were on just about every corner, and our car was broken into. I agree with Harker Heights. Very nice area!

Killeen has it's good areas and bad areas just like any other city. It really depends on how much you can afford to spend on housing. If you or your spouse is military lower enlisted and you are just starting out I definitely recommend living on post if possible. There are also a lot of nice areas surrounding Killeen that are close enough to drive to post.

Are you planning on moving to Killeen or the surrounding area?? Killeen has one of the highest crime rates in the state, I wouldn't recommend it. Belton, Temple, Salado, Harker Heights, or Copperas Cove would be much better! Belton has some of the best schools around.
