Whether or not that's true depends on the individual. I had plenty to keep me occupied as a single male entering middle age. I worked full time. I dated. I volunteered at my local American Legion post. I wrote articles and essays for various publications. I visited often with my children, taking the younger two for playtime and the older two for lunch and going fishing and visiting museums, going to ball games and talking about their futures. I had little time just sit on my behind and get fatter.
When I retired, same thing: my kids are older, but now I have grandchildren to visit. My wife still works full time, but while she works, I do the housework, the yardwork, the cooking. I volunteer with another American Legion post, my VFW post, my ham radio club, my Marine Corps League detachment. My wife and I are both historical reenactors and are involved in the planning and execution of two annual Civil War reenactments here in upstate New York. I still write articles and essays for various publications. I take an occasional class at my local adult education establishment - most recently completed a class in grant writing.
There's no reason or excuse to sit around doing nothing when you have free time! Life is what you make of it.

No, I don't believe that you can measure the time being utilized between single or married people.
It depends on the motivation of the person, the energy level, life style, etc.
Every human being is unique!
Have you ever heard of the saying "If you need something done, ask the busiest person" !

Depends on the single person. One of my single girlfriends works 2 jobs and is getting her Masters degree. She's the busiest person I know!

It depends on their age and responsibilities. If you're in your 20's, 30's sure, but when you get to your 40's, 50's, 60's - it's not so easy any more. You have people to take care of and chores to do at home, and inbetween that, you get to do what you want to do.

yes i think that single people have more time on their hands. I was a singleparent to one for 8 years and thought i was busy..... but nowhere near as busy as i got when i moved in with my boyfriend....... you have to make time for your partner (not really a chore) but it means i don't have time for long girly phone calls, I spend my evenings talking to him instead of catching up with study/housework/friends..... being courteous and respectful partner takes time!!!! have even less time now as have had another baby!

some people are single because they don't have time to meet or get to know new people. I believe the complete opposite.

I'd say that we'd all have a whole lot more time,
On our hands if we could live the life that we want to lead.
Thank you very much :)

We all have the same amount of time to work with, but at what rate does the time appear to pass?
