It would have to change so drastically, that I could not find the words to say how much. I highly doubt that the democrats could ever change enough to suit me. They have too much of a history that is not easy to forget.

Actually Bill Richardson and several other dems rank higher for me than Ron Paul a Republican on my candidate calculator.
So it isn't about party, it is about the issue for me.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (R)
89.36% match
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (D) - 55.32%
Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D) - 44.68%
New York Senator Hillary Clinton (D) - 42.55%
Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards (D) - 42.55%
Texas Representative Ron Paul (R) - 40.43%
Most people do not know why they are backing their candidates except for a few sound bytes, gender or race.
The calculator takes the TOP 24 ISSUES, lets YOU RANK them by LEVEL of IMPORTANCE to YOU and CHOOSE whether or not you SUPPORT the 24 ISSUES.

About as drastically the Republican party will have to change before I vote PARTY LINE.
After the Republicans sold their soul to the spend & spend some more fake conservatives & the religious right, I can not call myself a Republican anymore. Therefore I am an independent conservative - true (fiscal) conservative.
You young bucks who keep thinking that the current Democrats are worse than the current Republicans are only fooling yourselves!

It's the Democratic party. You don't get to change our name. It's truly sad the way you treat your fellow Americans, about half of the population who happens to disagree with you. OMG they vote according to their constituencies, the voters!!!! How unamerican!

I need them to stop focusing all their energy on healthcare, social security, and complaining about the president. Everytime I turn on the news, they're saying something negative, and not providing solutions.
However, under our current administration, the amt income level is very low, and they've spent like drunken sailors, fighting a war on terror that's not necessarily making us any safer here.
Bottom line: I won't vote democratic because the frontrunner is campaigning on the fact that she could be the first woman president, playing politics like a 9-year old girl playing house.

They'd have to be the Democrats as they were before 1972. Back when they were not hostile to America's military, economic structure and culture.
In other words, quite a lot.

The LAST person I'd ever vote for would be a neocon... in ANY party.
In 38 more days, in the IOWA Caucus, my vote WILL go to HILLARY.

When EITHER of the parties (R) or (D) start thinking and doing what is best for the American people, THEN I will start thinking about either of them.

if they pick Hillary to run, then I will never try to be a democrat, because it shows how mentally inferior the party really is.
