Do I need to buy something or what?

Option A is buy a wireless router (even the Nintendo Wifi USB connector for the DS will work). I'd opt for the Nintendo Wifi USB Connector; I think they run about $30.

Option B is to buy the wired ethernet port for your Wii and connect it to your existing router with an ethernet cable.

You'll need at least a router so you can have more than one device connected to your modem. If you don't have a router you will need to buy one.

If you already have a non-wireless router then you'll need a cable to reach from Wii to router and a Wii LAN adapter:
