Best Left Alone?

-The Past-
is it best left alone, not forgotten but cherish the memories yet move on?

me and like many friends used to chat and hang out nearly everyday, have fun and got to know each other, but we drifted because we had other stuff to do [and the place where we used to meet up isn't used any more] but we still have each other's contacts.

There's a famous quotation:
"...The past is a foreign country - they do things differently there..."
And in my experience, it is very true.
Like you say, cherish the memories, but never try to go back. It can never be like it was. Sometimes it can even be better, sometimes it's worse, but it is always different.
Everyone moves on and grows in different directions. It's a (sad) fact of life but it's the way it is. Stay in touch with your friends, but realise you've all got your own lives now and that is a great thing.

Try to stay in touch.....nothing like having friends for a really long time where you can be yourself and where there is a history that you share. It takes time to get friendships past the superficial level to a deep, sharing level. It is also great to be able to look back in later years with fond memories, to share the different stages in person's life and to know that they deeply care for you. It takes time and effort. Always remember...what you sow, you will reap.

dont u think that even if once a year you all meet up and chat about the fun,the laughs,daft things,and good times you all used to have,dont let people die around you and then think"i wish we had talked".
