I know if a guy is going to cheat, he's going to do it regardless (and the same goes for women who cheat). But, it seems like any time I hear about a married man cheating, his wife is pregnant. Back in my single days, I dated 2 married men who had pregnant wives, BUT, I had no idea (they lied about it) and I broke it off as soon as I found out. (I would have never even thought about it- had I known the truth from the beginning.) With this experience alone, it has made me nervous about my own husband. I don't seem to worry about it at all, except when I'm pregnant.
Now, I just found out that my best friend's sister is pregnant by a married man, who has a pregnant wife back home (military). When my best friend told me, I was speechless. It makes me furious.

So, now it has me thinking again.... are men more prone to stray while their wives are pregnant?
Or, are my past personal experiences all coincidental?

I'm not so much referring to my husband. I have trust issues from my past but have finally found one that I can fully trust (never thought that would happen).

I'm just asking... in general.

hmmm.. I do agree guys will cheat regardless of whether their wife is pregnant or not, but married guys do seem to step out more when theres a baby in the oven. Women will never know why, but it could be because of the weight gain, the mood changes, you're not always in the mood for sex or giving oral pleasure. But at the end of the day a man will be a man. My advice to you is unless your husband gives your a reason to suspect him of cheating don't think twice about it. When you're pregnant you also tend to be a little more emotional than normal.. Just relax, enjoy your pregnancy and your husband. I hear sex is much better being pregnant ;)

Congratulations!

I don't think that they are more prone to cheat when their wives are pregnant. Most men that cheat are repeat offenders. Sometimes their wives know or suspect and some of them get pregnant because they think that it will help or fix things. This never happens. Sometimes the cheaters just have more time on their hands if their wives are pregnant because she is preoccupied and more tired and not paying as close as attention as normal. Some of them also might not have wanted a baby and she got pregnant anyway.

No they are my husband cheated on me while I was pregnant but alot of women don't know that theu stop having sex at 7 or 8 months no it is okay for you to still have sex why because it feels good. I had sex all the way up until 2 weeks before my due date and I was fine. But I think it all depends on the guy to if he loves you enough then he will not cheat but if he doesn't then he will.

Not really, its more or less if the person is a cheater they will cheat when they find it to be an option. For instance a guy who doesn't have it in him to do so wont be tempted just because his wife is preg-o. However a guy who does have it in him will be more likely when sex isn't available, not just when pregnant but when he cant get at it for any reason like he is in trouble lol

Well I have never cheated so maybe I am not a good person to answer this question. But I always thought my wife looked very sexy when she was pregnant and her pregnancy never causes us to stop having sex. So I do not know why being pregnant would cause a man to cheat.

I have seen no numbers to back this up.

I think it isn't that the pregnant wife is unattractive so much as the hormone/tiredness and the reality that HUGE responsibility is coming down the near future. This makes the man run to go mess it up without thinking.

If he's gonna cheat, he's gonna cheat, regardless of if she's pregnant, dying of cancer, whatever!

But pregnancy sometimes dampens a woman's sex drive, so that might make him start looking elsewhere. Personally, when I was pregnant, my husband couldn't get enough of me! Supposedly pregnant coochie, is the best coochie! lol Or that's what I've heard anyway!

My first husband (notice I said first lol) was an ok husband when I first married him. Once I got pregnant decided to stay out late at night supposedly drinking with his buddies hmmm yeah right. After having our son he got even worse and started lying telling me he had to work over time and his car broke down and bla bla bla. He was cheating on me and left me for another woman. I only have the one child and am now remarried. Once one door closes another one opens up with someone better.

Actually, I think parents are more likely to cheat than couples. Think about it. The stress of the family builds up quicker. Your role as a person changes from potential to obligation. Don't get me wrong I love being a Dad, but to escape all my obligations and start fresh... that's tempting.

I think in general people are more likely to cheat when they are trying to escape from there own lives.

Sounds coincidental....I've known plenty of cheaters and that has never been the reason.
You must know some really low people. If you were going to betray a woman; I'd have to say that would be the worst time to betray her.
