I don't know. I have often wondered the same thing. It seems like we are destined to destroy ourselves in the end, so what is the point to all of this madness? If you figure it out, please be kind enough to share.
I am like you. I am happily married, with 2 great kids. I am in school and a stay at home mom, but I have no idea what it's really all about........

To try to be happy. Things might be looking fine now but it won't always be. To prevail over misfortune and not be defeated but always remain hopeful is the purpose of life. Whatever it is, the purpose of life is not through an affair.

In general, I believe the purpose is to live it to the fullest without harm to others. If you want a specific or higher purpose, that would be different for everyone. It depends on what effect you want to have on others or the earth, and what you feel is important in life.

Those may make you happy but why would you think that is your purpose of life?
If making yourself happy is your motivation for selecting those things, then making yourself happy is your purpose.

no need to slit your wrists over lack of purpose in life. As long as you can make it through without going to the slammer, you should be fine.

The purpose of life is to preserve DNA, either by preserving your own version (staying healthy), making new copies of your version (reproducing), or by preserving DNA that is most like yours (selflessness, philanthropy, etc)
DNA rules this planet, and we are nothing but machines made by it to help preserve itself.
