I asked a lady out 5 months ago and she declined. I want to stay friends with her and I'm now leaving the company.

"I wanted to thank you for your help during the year. I enjoyed meeting you.

I'd like to stay in touch and remain friends. How about a coffee sometime? It would be nice to hear from you.

Take care"

Is it ok? Will she think I hitting on her again?

I am not sure. Its clear that you are a nice person, but if she has declined you before, well maybe saying you want to stay in touch and have a coffee sometime is probably not the best idea. I mean she knows you like her, surely saying nothing would have more of an effect, she will see you have now gone and may say goodbye.

It is a very sweet note, and yes, it will seem like you are at least still interested. It is flattering and classy. She might have declined because you work together, in which case, this note gives her a chance to take you up on the initial date request.

If nothing comes of it, you were honest with yourself, and her, and you will always know you tried. The lady of your dreams is out there waiting for you if she is not the one!

Good luck!

Well, ARE you hitting on her again?!?!?!?!?
I've got to admit, knowing that you asked her out and she turned you down, it does seem a little bit like you are trying again.
What was your work relationship like after you asked her out? If you both just got over it and carried on as normal, then yes, this note is fine.
If everything was a bit strained, I'd tone down the note a little, just to make it a little less 'full-on'.
Good luck in your new job, by the way.

you seem like a nice guy, you must really like her. You bounce back and forth in the note. You tell her how glad you are that she's been there the past year, then you ask her out for "a coffee". Look. Get EXCITED! Ask her out, EXCUSE... say you just had a great day and feel like going out, ask her if she'd like to go out for a drink, don't sound needy.Show her a good time, relax, and have fun!!!

Yeah, sorry mate it does sound a bit dodgy. She may say yes we'll have a coffee sometime or u might get blown out again !!! Gud Luk. I would forget her and move on, unless she proper fit then stalk her till she gives in.

I don't know what she is thinking. But keeping it low key is a good idea. Leave it open for her to get in touch with you if she feels comfortable. So I would leave it at small talk. Leave her a nice card or something.

I think that's lovely.

No issues there. And it may actually make her think twice.

If she doesn't have your number, might be worth putting it on there so she can be the one to contact you, and not vice-versa. That way if she even might feel remotely like you're going to hit on her, she'll know that this is a way of keeping the ball in her court.

Nice work.

I think you should just say:

'Thanks for your help during the year, its been a pleasure knowing you and I would like to think we could be friends and stay in touch'

And leave it as that and see if you get a response.

Good luck

Why don't you just tell her that you'd like to remain friends, give her your phone number, and tell her you'd love to hear from her if she ever wants to have a coffee or whatever. Then she won't feel any pressure.

Are you hitting on her again, or do you really want to be just friends? If you are really hitting on her again, but just not wanting her to know, then I think you should respect her decision that she didn't want to go out with you and let her go. If you really want to just be friends with her, why not just say what you want to say to her and forget the note? Just a thought.
