All of these are quick and can be made quicker, all of these get over 20mpg, and some of these are really unique fun cars to drive. Now did you want quick with good handling (0-60mph in 3-5 seconds, and 1.0g on a skid pad) or did you want a top speed (150+), you can have both, but you will lose economy, small light cars perform very well and get good economy but typically top out at 150mph.

you can get a good gas mileage car that can go 100+ but getting to 100+ fast is what kills the gas. You can get some decant speed out of a few gas efficient cars.. but once you start getting into the super fast sports cars your gas will be gone. Then again those cars base prices are so high that if you can afford them gas won't be much of an issue.

I know at least 5 people that have 2006 & 2007 Corvettes with Z06 LS6 and and also the new Z06 LS7 427 cubic inch engine, as well as driving one myself for a while. Everyone that owns one has no problem getting 28mpg cruising on the open freeway ( including backroads in Nevada at speeds way above the limit), some have gotten up to 32mpg on long trips. I'm not sure about city driving.

Yes, while I love my Miata, the Lotus Europa would go 180, and still get 40 mpg.
But these are hard to find and have not been in production for some time now.
But if 135 is fast enough and 30+ MPG is good enough to meet your standards the I would say the Miata yes.
The SHO I owned would get would get 25 to 30 mpg and was faster the the Miata. I got to where the speed did not scare me so in the name of self-preservation I gave it away. Yes gave, love it to much to ever sell it.

Actually it makes sense. It take the same technology to make it fast as it does do get good gas mileage, light weight and a very efficient engine.
A lot of the small performance cars get excellent mileage.
you just have to remember to keep your foot out of it..

No, and any vehicle that is driven fast will get terrible gas mileage. Why do you think there's a $5,000 gas guzzler tax imposed on Dodge Vipers.

Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Porsche Cayman gets about 27-30mpg, Audi R8 Gets 25mpg(thats 420hp) Porsche Carrera 911 25-27 mpg. All of that is Highway. The all get about 16-19mpg in the city. Thats better than most luxury sedans. There are a lot of cars, you just gotta dig for them.
