I have tried comodo pro version 3 and honestly I prefer 2.4 as well. It is still the best thing going in my opinion. I reinstalled version 2.4 after I tried version 3 for a couple of days. I think when they work out a few of its bugs I will go back. If you like 2.4, just use it.

I can't use CFP 3 because it doesn't support my Win2K Pro, so I'm staying with CFP 2.4.
If you're not happy with CFP 3, why not just go back to CFP 2.4? It's still a far cry better than any firewall PC Tools has to offer.

But if you *really* want to try something new and different, the (free) Online Armor Personal Firewall is now rated the best by Matousec (at least until they test CFP 3).

Edit: The PC Tools firewall rates "poor" in the above testing.

Wh don't you install the free version of Zone Alarm, firewall for personal use. They will give you daily auto., updates if necessary and all new version are downloaded to your pc direct and free.

I used the free version for ten years and not one rogue packet has ever been able to access my pc.

http://www.zonealarm.com Look for the home products on the webpage and you will find the free version for download.

I think its performance is excellent, and it let me get rid the standalone intrusion prevention program I was using. The Defense+ feature does take some getting used to, though. I've taken to turning it off when performing Windows updates and re-enabling it when the updates are completed. Adding the Defense+ feature definitely enhances security, but it does make for an extra layer of the program to be learned.
